Hello!

Raised in Olympia, Washington, Jennifer discovered her passion for music early in life.  As the daughter of a performing arts executive director and costume designer, Jennifer's interest in the arts was encouraged and complimented with exposure to artists ranging from Mozart to B.B. King, Stephen Schwartz to The Chieftains.  At age 5, she began studying piano.  By age 12, she was accompanying local choirs and soloists.  In her high school years, she assisted national and international musicians as a 'page turner' on stage and was employed by vocal instructors to serve as an accompanist and vocal assistant.  She has studied under the tutelage of exceptional musicians and teachers, including international recording artist Scott Cossu, Mark Anton, Gordon Miller and operatic composer Carol Sams.

While a student at the University of Washington, Jennifer studied abroad both in Spain and Italy.  During her time overseas, she traveled extensively not just through Spain and Italy, but also through North Africa and much of Western and Central Europe. This international experience helped broaden her musical perspective; the influence of Spanish flamenco rhythms and Celtic melodies in particular can often be heard in her improvisational music.

Since receiving her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington in 2006, Jennifer has been an active professional musician.  She has taught private piano and voice, created and led performing arts workshops, classes, camps and shows, accompanied at renowned dance studios, and helped facilitate the addition of a musical education program to a preexisting performing arts academy.  Over the years, she has worked with some of the most reputable local organizations, including Studio East, Broadway Bound, Evergreen City Ballet and The Gallery School of Music and Dance.

She has performed for events in Western Washington's top venues, including Four Seasons Hotel, Bastyr Chapel, Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Salish Lodge, Seattle Aquarium, Washington State Governor's Mansion, and many others.

In addition to professional performances, Jennifer is the Founder and Executive Director of Iovanne Music Academy.
With four passionate, dedicated educators on staff, IMA offers private music lessons 7 days a week in Kirkland and throughout the greater Eastside.
